Functional category of the financial account of the Balance of Payments (BoP) and the International Investment Position (IIP) that records, by exclusion, financial assets and liabilities vis-à-vis non-residents not accounted for as direct investment, portfolio investment, financial derivatives, or reserves

It is mainly composed of loans and deposits; trade credits, granted directly by the supplier to the buyer; financial leasing operations on goods, and temporary transfers and acquisitions between residents and non-residents of securities, either through ‘repo’ operations or through securities lending with cash exchange.
